First time visiting this dealership on Saturday to trade

May 8, 2023

By Anthony A on DealerRater

First time visiting this dealership on Saturday to trade in two vehicles and purchase a new one. They made an offer on each vehicle, which I accepted after some small negotiations. The offer was verbal and on paper. The deal was completely written out, by them, on paper, to include trade in value, their vehicle price, taxes, title, doc fees, etc. We had agreed upon a final number even to include financing through GM. The deal was agreed upon by both parties on paper and we shook hands on it. I went back Monday morning to complete the financing paperwork and finish the agreed upon deal and they no longer are honoring the offer that THEY made.Zero integrity. Zero honor. I can not recommend someone I can no longer trust.

Dealer response

Thank you for your feedback. We are familiar with this situation as we had advised that any deal was contingent on our wholesale buyer paying for the truck to be traded in. The wholesaler would not agree to the value as we had hoped as the vehicle has damage. It is not our intention to disappoint or frustrate our guests. If there is anything that we can do to regain your business, please contact us directly.Sincerely, The Anthony Chevrolet Team, (304) 366-3500

Consumer response

No one advised of any "contingency." You made an offer BEFORE you talked to your wholesale buyer. After you spoke to your wholesale buyer, your words were, "I'll honor my offer, I'm just gonna have to squeeze more out of my buyer." Rod and I shook hands on the agreed upon number and we were only awaiting financing because the deal was made late on Saturday. I drove back there Monday morning to finish the finance paperwork and you failed to honor your word. Your continued lying further demonstrates your lack of integrity and why your business should be avoided.

Dan needs a raise for how much they took me for!

September 17, 2019

By Br1224 on DealerRater

I brought my Colorado into them for the airbag light. It spit out the code for the passenger airbag connector or/and airbag. I chose just to replace the connector. That didn’t fix the problem. I drove less then 5 minutes and light came on. I was then told I needed a 920 airbag with 200 install. That repair didn’t make it 3 minutes down the road. The miscommunication between the service manager and technician was horrible. Dan told me at one point there was a way to test the airbag and had to be corrected by the tech. I was told by Dan that airbag light was coming on and off when tech moved the connector during airbag repair. The tech the next day said it was staying on solid. I jumped on Dan that if it was bad connector I should be refunded for airbag. That in my opinion is why the story changed come Friday when I picked up my vehicle. Dan offered to run new wiring from airbag to module under seat. The tech said he felt he could do this with a coat hanger without having to take my carpet up. I left with my truck. The best choice I could of made. It is now in a different shop and low and behold the new tech can just wiggle connector and get it to come on and off. He took dash apart and as you see in the pictures two wires to the connector aren’t attached. If this connector would of been done right I wouldn’t have 1,100 in on airbag repair. Anthony Chevrolet is refusing to return any money. I believe Dans original statement about being able to shake the connector last Thursday. Then changing the story come Friday. If another tech can shake it and the pictures show messed up wires well you be the JUDGE! The icing on the cake though is every other dealer I called and spoke to there service managers said that the old airbag is mine. Well isn’t it convenient Anthony Chevrolet won’t give me back my old airbag that never went off. They claim hazardous materials even though they will sell me a new one to walk out of the dealership with and junkyards sell used ones. This was a poor quality repair and there solution of using a hanger to run wires was another example of them trying to cut corners. The other dealerships I called said carpet would need to come up to see properly. This wouldn’t of fixed the problem anyways when you have a connector that looks like this. Thank you Anthony Chevrolet for your excellent and outstanding job on this repair!
